Disabled Facilities
The BLOC has 4 accessible rooms, one located on each floor (ground, 1, 2, 3) without windows specifically for wheelchair users and are 18sqm in size. They are located in close proximity to the main guest lift. There is a lift to access the rooms on floors 1,2,3. All bedrooms have a king-size bed, 32inch flat-screen TV, drench shower, AC and Wi-Fi. There are no tea and coffee-making facilities in the room. Double rooms can be booked with a window or without a window and are 10sqm in size.
All bedrooms have their own wet rooms with vertical drench showers. Accessible rooms have a wheel-in shower with a non -slip floor and shower seat, extra space for a wheelchair to fully turn, grab rails around the toilet and shower area and emergency pull-cords. All emergency pull-cords are connected to the reception.
Transfers to and from Gatwick Airport
Please drive to the Car Park on the night of your stay and take the free transfer service to the South Terminal. Follow the signs in the terminal to the BLOC Hotel. On your return simply take the free transfer service back to APH to collect your car.
Additional Information
In an emergency, customers will evacuate through the entrance door or the alternative exit area. Employees will undergo basic training in evacuation procedures and will be responsible for getting customers out of the building. A fire alarm system is installed.
Generally, as in most cases in all buildings, the lift should not be used in emergencies. There is an area designed as a wheelchair refuge for such instances. A fire alarm system (with both audible and visual warnings) is installed throughout the hotel's public areas and accessible bedrooms.
